Christmas is well and truly over for the team and back to the daily grind as tree works continues, although it didn’t really end!

Just before Christmas, Danny went to have a hernia operation which ruled him out of action for 4-6 weeks which meant that Aaron was the team leader alone on call over the festive period.

AJ Paine Tree Surgeons were called straight into emergency action twice in the period between Christmas day and New Years Eve. Firstly, we had to clear an elm tree in Paignton that had toppled through three gardens, and then onto a large oak that had split in half a couple of days later in Dartington.

The weather was against the team throughout the emergency callouts as it was cold, wet and pretty miserable but plenty of tea and festive cheer from customers kept spirits high and the boys motivated.

January was all in all a very fun and busy month with varied works throughout the South Hams, Torbay, Cornwall and a lot in our hometown in Totnes also.

We covered dismantling/rigging operations and even had some surveying and written reports to attend to as some people were worried about their trees in the adverse weather and wanted their minds put to rest.

Plenty of good solid tree surgery to get our teeth into for the first month of the year, roll on 2018!
